Reflection on my Time in Santiago de Compostela

Before we came to Madrid this fall semester, we spent two weeks in Santiago de Compostela, a small city in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. During these two weeks, I was able to connect with the other students in my program, ease my way in to speaking fully Spanish, and learn so much more about Spanish culture. I wrote the piece below to reflect on this time, and specifically the appeal of an old, walkable city like Santiago.
